He’s also a versatile athlete having competed in numerous triathlons of all distances (multiple Ironman finishes), marathons (including the elite Boston Marathon), obstacle courses (various venues) and martial arts (various systems since the 90’s).
Jose also holds special certifications in hot stone massage (LaStone Therapy), cupping (ICTA) and kinesiology taping (RockTape). He prides himself on combining “book” smarts with “race” smarts to help clients identify, heal and prevent injuries. Given his extensive background in personal training, Jose can provide clients with specific, functional strengthening to prevent recurrence of injuries. This combination creates a unique method of bodywork which renders solid results.
Ruby has been a licensed massage therapist since 2017. She attended Malcolm X College, where her education had a strong clinical focus. She blends effective, clinical treatment with attentive nurturing touch and has a strong passion for helping others. She personally invests herself into each client’s wellness journey. Ruby’s passion began in childhood from a ranching background where aches and pains from hard labor and no days off are common. This is where she found her calling, providing much needed relief to family and friends.
Ruby provides a healing touch to anyone in need. She has experience working with various populations such as triathletes, prenatal, the elderly and even a few equine clients. She is continuously challenging herself by learning more and refers to herself as a lifelong student. In her free time, she loves exploring nature, riding horses and writing poetry.
Shirley is a 2013 graduate of Soma Institute of Clinical Massage Therapy in Chicago. She is proficient in Thai, Swedish, sports and deep tissue massage as well as myofascial, trigger point and cupping modalities. Thai massage is one of her favorite type of bodywork to offer which she has learned through two different schools, Blue lotus Thai Healing Studies and Thai Bodywork. Blue lotus honors a more traditional connection to it’s lineage of Thailand Bodywork whereas The school of Thai Bodywork blends traditional techniques with a clinical thought process to treat trigger points to help restore functional motion of joints.
Shirley’s ultimate goal is to help each client reach the core of their problem and teach them how to listen to their bodies and alleviate physical and spiritual pain caused from day-to-day living. She assists clients in the ability to relax into themselves, to focus on the source of the pain and to heal it accordingly. Outside of massage therapy, she focuses on finding balance within her life by actively leading a healthy, physical and spiritual lifestyle.
Spiritually, she loves meditating, journaling, tapping, sound healing, floating, and reading. Physically, she loves acroyoga, dance, calisthenics, training ninja obstacle courses, tricking, and yoga.
